Bellwether’s 2025 In Retrospect

January

Early in the year, Allison and Rebecca led a pilot training on the Metropolitan Council’s Transportation Equity Evaluation Framework and Tool, which enhances equity in funding processes. The pilot participants included two teams from the Minnesota Dept. of Transportation and Metro Transit, and community members from the Equity Policy Group that developed the framework and tool.

March

This spring, Rebecca led a work group for the MnDOT Statewide Corridor Planning Prioritization Process, which recommended indicators to identify locations across the state to advance MnDOT’s strategic goal of Healthy Equitable Communities. This was a major step to actualize statewide equity goals into metrics.

May

Allison was invited to speak about Herocrats at the Minnesota Environmental Health Association conference in Duluth. The talk was facilitated by Kim Carlton from the Minnesota Dept. of Agriculture, and they discussed how environmental health professionals can be creative in regulatory roles.

August

August brought personal milestones for the Bellwether team! Rebecca got married, and Allison and Mike went to Ireland on a family vacation.

November

Rebecca and Allison kicked off engagement activities for the Met Council Electric Vehicle Public Charging Analysis, which is prioritizing locations across the Twin Cities region for future public chargers.

This project included posting signs at 30+ EV charging stations across the Twin Cities to promote an online open house and survey to collect feedback on charging needs and priorities. The survey is live through January 9, 2026, and you can participate here.

December

Mike celebrated the graduation of the 2025 Senior Leaders Institute (SLI) cohort, a leadership development program co-led with Minnesota Management and Budget and Humanize MN. The program empowers state executives to drive systemic change in their agencies.
